Make interactive quizzes that are more engaging and trackable with Near-Life CREATOR

Create Interactive Quizzes with Near-Life CREATOR

In this post, Marcus shows how interactive quizzes can help you add value and quantify benefits

OK, so you have a new employee, a new product, maybe a change in your way of working or some pretty hefty legislative change, that your staff absolutely need to know about.

Sometimes it is enough to test your staff to get that feel good ‘tick in the box’, but in reality it is a huge opportunity to assess current state – call it the foundation, and then after whatever training you provide, assess the change.

Quantify the benefit.

Some call it pre and post knowledge quizzes that baseline current capabilities, and then assess the improvement following the training.

If you take this approach, you will start to truly value each and every training initiative.

You will soon see training as a key driver for growth, both top and bottom line, an investment rather than a cost.

So how can you create interactive quizzes with Near-Life CREATOR?

Well the beauty of Near Life is that it is built as an immersive and interactive authoring tool; you get all of the features that makes immersive interaction work for something as simple as asking a question. So not only can you create great learning content, you can also create truly engaging quizzes.

Being able to ask a question many different ways, is exciting and fun. You can even adjust the questioning style as you go, based upon their responses.

Your questions can be asked via a video of a person or scene, animation, a picture, or simply as plain old written text; or all of the above, if you want to mix it up. The answer can be recorded by selecting a hotspot on video or picture, button options or even text.

When answering the question, additional context, such as assessing the confidence of the person answering the question can be added. Some may answer a question with confidence, and some with hesitancy. Assessing the answer with this context can lead to some really interesting insights. In fact, it is the people who answer incorrectly with confidence that worry me the most!!!

Each answer is scored, contributing to an overall, total score that can result in a pass or a fail. You can even apply a negative score to an incorrect answer, which is really useful if you only want people to answer questions that they are sure of. This pass or fail is returned to the calling LMS, included in the final report and will soon be able to be sent to your own LRS using xAPI.

In addition to all of the above, you get access to our analytics package that summarises responses often providing insight to organisations on where training needs to be focused or adjusted.

So let’s see what this looks like…

To demonstrate the different ways a question can be asked and answered, in this example, we have a really simple question:  What colour is an orange?
