2018 Learning Technologies Awards Shortlist

Another award shortlist for Frontline Humanitarian Toolbox (FHT). This time for the prestigious Learning Technologies Awards.

The Learning Technologies Awards is the leading awards scheme in the industry.  The judging process is led and co-ordinated by the eLearning Network and includes a team of judges drawn from leading professionals in learning and development.

Credibility

The awards are so credible because there is a very robust judging process in place.   All the judges are chosen for their independence, for their skill, depth of experience and reputation, and for their contribution to and passion for learning technologies.

Shortlisted applicants must also present their entry to the judges.

Last month, Mike Todd from DTS and Kathy Releen from NRC, travelled to London to present FHT to the judging panel.  The platform, developed primarily for a Syrian audience, is shortlisted for the “Excellence in the design of learning content – public & non-profit sector” category and faces stiff competition from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) and the Crowded Places Information Exchange (CPIE), The Football Association, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and others.

Near-Life™ provides immersive and engaging interactive scenario learning experiences. Our approach gives learners a safe way to engage in realistic, decision-based learning:

  • A more engaging way to learn (MIT)
  • Significantly higher cognitive gains (Vogel et al)
  • Adaptable to reflect changing needs
  • Provides feedback and intelligence to measure training at an individual and organisational level
  • Helps to standardise training and reinforce best practice

Winners will be announced 21 November at the award’s Gala Evening in London.
